Nominations for the Citizen of the Year and our new Junior Citizen of the Year (under 16 years old) for 2021-2022 are invited from the residents of Penicuik and Penicuik District.

We know this has been a challenging time for many and the community has worked tirelessly to support each other. The nominee should therefore be worthy of the honour, as someone who has over time, worked selflessly to help and improve the area, someone who has improved the quality of life in the town and its district or someone who has been supporting the community effort during the Covid 19 pandemic.

The Citizens of the Year can be expected to be involved in the various annual activities that mark the Penicuik year which has included the Summer Street Fair, switching on of the Christmas Lights and the Hunter and Lass celebrations; however, due to the restrictions, these events may not take place, or may be online.
