PEACE AND TRANQUILITY: BELWOOD OAKS IS THE PERFECT PLACE TO CALL HOME FOR CALA HAPPY BUYER
Nicola and Jim Bradford were on their way home from visiting their son in Peebles when they noticed a sign for Cala Homes’ (East) Belwood Oaks development. Having looked at other homebuilders, the prospective buyers took the opportunity to visit the Midlothian development and it was love at first sight.
Nicola said: “When we arrived the sun was shining, and the development looked amazing. It felt like a peaceful location, thanks to all the greenery surrounding it.
“We were captivated by the beauty of the surrounding hills that day and we both thought – we want to wake up to this view.
“I just knew in my heart that it was where I wanted to live and I even said to Jim, I know exactly what home I want.”
The couple, who originally lived in the Greenbank area of Edinburgh before moving to Belwood Oaks, were keen to find a new home with easy access to the great outdoors.
The Bradfords chose a four-bedroom Cleland housetype. Nicola continued, “Once we got inside the Cleland showhome, and we saw the open bi-fold doors which perfectly showcased the spectacular view, we just knew this was the development for us.”
However, it wasn’t just the Cleland housetype that made Nicola and Jim fall in love with Belwood Oaks, the development also offers a fantastic lifestyle for the couple and their dog, Lily – which is really important to Nicola. “The biggest benefit of moving to Belwood Oaks is our access to the outdoors. The move has been incredible for Lily.
“We can take her a long walk every morning and afternoon along the woodland circular path, which has fantastic views of the Pentland Hills. The walks are peaceful, and it feels great to be surrounded by greenery and the outdoors.”
Nicola continues: “We also really enjoy walking Lily in the landscaped grounds at Penicuik House, which has a great selection of walking routes. I love to see Lily enjoying herself, and we can see how happy she is here. During our walks we often pick up a coffee at the Flotterstone Rangers Centre and Café, which is a great pit stop before or after a walk.”
The couple also love that they are just 15 minutes away from Edinburgh, so can easily meet friends and family in the city centre. However, Belwood Oaks is also conveniently placed to access a wide range of great local amenities. Nicola said: “Penicuik has some superb restaurants, we’ve dined at the local Chinese, which was just lovely. We also recently went to Cibo, a local Italian restaurant, for a family birthday, and had a delicious meal there too.
Nicola continued: “I absolutely adore my home and the development; it really does give us the best of both worlds. It feels like we live in the country but still have easy access to the city. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Belwood Oaks to anybody who is look for a new property. It’s the perfect location, just 15 minutes from Edinburgh with everything you could possibly want in a county setting. Its one of the best decisions we’ve ever made.”
